Department of Information and Communication Technology of DFD serves in different fields of general and technical activities. Apart from general field of services such as providing a hardware communication base, efficient information flow and software support, specialized activities of ICT in Deputy of Food and Drug include supporting new substantial administrative, supervisory and research projects of this organization.
ICT`s experts evaluate different ways of supporting the proposed ideas and projects through arranging meetings, and after deciding unanimously on the most practical methods, they  begin the process of designing  software or databases, providing statistical calculation opportunity, facilitating the essential technical communications, providing  specialized information references, organizing electronic communication of the project executer and also updating methods on the basis of the most recent models and global samples.
At present, IT department experts are active in completing the following projects:
1. Digitalization of DFD`s profile system
2. Design and performance of DFD`s website
3. Design and setup of mail merge system
4. Designing of automated calculating software for evaluating scores of applicants` of establishing a pharmacy
5. Designing  electronic forms related to supervision of food industry companies in Shahid Beheshti`s supervision zone
6. setting up an educational room equipped with security cameras capable of recording educational programs and interactive whiteboard
7. Setup automation software and automated internal work flow
8. Setting up a visitor's room as a mark of respect
9. Set up the MS patient software and related databank
10. Complementary strides to promote portal system
11. Installation of multimedia stations in Deputy of food and drug
12. Arranging sessions for on the job training of the staff members
13. Designing a software for registration of  receiving contacts in Drug Poisoning Information Center of DFD capable of extracting statistical reports
