 Research group for Public Health Genomics:

Areas of activity:

  • Public and professional information in order to prepare the environment and people's participation
  • Comprehensive integration plan, prevention, screening and control of genetic disorders in the national health system
  • Producing country bio bank

 Description of duties:

  • Comprehensive integration plan, prevention, screening and control of genetic diseases in coordination with the health system, department of Genetics, Ministry of Health
  •  Estimating the man power and equipment needed for the prevention, control and treatment of genetic diseases.
  • Studies conducted in the cost-effectiveness of ongoing and relevant reports to be submitted to relevant organization to promote insurance coverage (social security and health care organization)
  • Preparing instructions and guides
  • Determining genetic diseases burden
  • Educational programs related to the prevention and control of genetic studies in medical genetic education system
  • Developing educational content and training courses for the whole community (for change in the education system.

  • Program evaluation and monitoring of the implementation

  Research group for Genomics & Reproductive Health:

    Areas of activity:

  Research related to the impact of genetic differences in reproductive health and health     promotion Mothers and Children.

 Description of duties:

  • Developing a comprehensive reproductive health care to women with low-risk pregnancies and births and fetal birth
  •  Comprehensive program of screening pregnant women for fetal congenital and genetic disorders, Prepared pamphlets for the public and professionals, and they are constantly updated with the factors in, Promote the health of vulnerable sections of society (women and children)
  • Studies related to genome structure in relation to physical and sexual development in girls
  • Studies related to genome structure in relation to the age of puberty in girls
  • Related studies to evaluate the role of genetic factors in the pathogenesis of congenital disorders
  • Studies related to the identification of genetic factors in the incidence of abortion, stillbirth
  • Related studies to identify genes affecting the incidence of hypertension in pregnancy
  • Related studies to identify genes involved in the development of osteoporosis in women
  • Studies related to the identification of genes associated with risk factors for abnormal bleeding 

Research group for Cancer Genomic:

Areas of activity:

  • Investigations related to the identification of genes and their role in the occurrence of any of the common cancers Environmental factors and how people live in their home country.

Description of duties:

  • Prepared pamphlets for the public and professionals, and they are constantly updated with Cancer Common
  • Conduct research to identify genes associated with specific markers (SNP) associated with cancers Prevalent in the country.
  • Establishing a database of SNP associated with common cancers
  • Formulating guidelines for screening (based on WHO guidelines) for preventive measures Cancer incidence in the country
  • Raw data analysis and preparation of the annual report of
  • Interaction with other research groups of the Department of Biological and genomic production processes and Health System
  • A complete and continuous close relationship with the Food and Drug Administration Deputy Cancer and ministry
  • Creation of scientific and medical research centers in the country
  • Establishing academic links with international research centers for cancer 

Research and Development (R&D) group:

 Research in response to the needs of the diagnostic (clinical genetic counseling) and in vitro interactions with Other research groups, including the Center for Genomics and Health System Research Group/

  • Identification of genetic research in the field of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, Neurodegenerative diseases, cancers through Byvbank (Biobank) and healthy individuals to step up disability or death.
  • Research on the development and implementation of new methods for molecular diagnosis. 

Description of duties:

  • Develop education and training programs for the genetic counseling
  • Molecular diagnostic studies for new ways to apply them in the Less Developed
  • Research on the development and implementation of molecular diagnostic methods in dealing with the service center Department of Molecular Medicine and biological products and new products.
  • Commissioning and development of genetic diagnostic services (basic and advanced) country and regional requirements As a national reference laboratory
